My College Haven't Even Start and yet..

...I've spotted some gorgeous in the college. XDXDXD~~

Today I saw a guy who looks 95% like Lee Hom in the college, only younger and doesn't dress like Lee Hom.

Luckily I didn't see any Shou lookalikes. If not you can bet I'm definitely going to hunt him down in the college and make my best effort to get near him XD (I sounded like some hunter now XD).

Wait. Why am I saying "luckily"?? I should *wish* that THERE IS a Shou lookalike in the college!! What am I doing?! XDXDXD.

And the food in the cafeteria's nice, love the tandoori chicken, but I hate the price. Totally expensive and unreasonable.

And thanks Nadia for showing me around the college, I really appreciate it ^^. At least now I know where to get food while I'm in the college.

Finally...

...I'm here.

The environment's nice, and the view outside the balcony is a good one.

Plus, it's always so cool here as compared to my home even if it's in the middle of the day.

And my room's always so dark even if it's 12pm in the afternoon. Thus makes it all the easier to sleep XD.

My housemates are night cats and they're so friendly. They chatted in the living room until 1a.m. while me in my room surfing the Internet like there's no tomorrow (college's starting in two days ya know). But I did chat a little bit with them, just not that much since I was so nervous to talk to them (my goodness my "making new friends" skill had been rusting all this time).

Everything seems nice except for the flush...it's spoilt and I have to flush manually T___T.

Can't wait for college to start ^o^~~ Although I do feel scared and nervous and stuff.

My Dad...

...weeps like a baby when he watch those touching romantic movies.

He loves to watch them too XD.

Don't accuse me of betraying my dad, I just think it's very cute of a guy to weep like a baby while watching romance movies even if it's my dad.

And sometimes it's not just romance movies...he weeps whenever he watches something relatively touching =___________=ll. While me, the supposed-to-be-emotional daughter, can't find a reason to cry over fake touching scenes in movies (okay not all just some).

Maybe I inherited my mom's gene for this trait. She don't cry in movies as well XD.

xxxHOLiC Review

Before you read this review, let me tell you that I am not, in any way affiliated with the production and anything related to xxxHOLiC (get what I really mean?) XD. But I really like this anime a lot. A whole lot. And this anime made me realize that I dig humorous animes which can make me laugh in every single episode. And am I delighted to find out that xxxHOLiC: Kei (sequel) is out just as I finished watching the first season! You can bet your last penny that I'm totally getting the sequel since everyone (every anime addict, that is) is talking about it and giving it the thumbs up after watching the latest sequel.

Like some of the animes which I love, this anime made me go laughing-out-loud from the very first episode of it. But there's one thing I don't really understand - why're all the characters have extra long legs and hands? Yet even though they have long legs and hands they still look human (not ape XD). Besides that, unrelated characters in the anime are always grayed out, literally. Maybe CLAMP's too lazy to draw the whole package? By the way, Mokona's really cute - round, black, eats up bad spirits and loves to bully Watanuki (actually I quite enjoyed watching Watanuki got bullied by Yuuko, Mokona and the twin girls XD) with Yuuko-san all the time ^^ll.

Yuuko's actually one of the main characters in the anime (she's smart! hats off to her). She's operates a shop which offers to realize client's wishes and the client has to pay back an equivalent price for it (not necessarily to be money). I love one of her favourite welcome line, "There is no coincidence in this world, only the inevitable (必然)". And let me tell you, I sort of enjoy watching Yuuko's fashion show in this anime. She changes outfit in every episode XD (and her outfits are all so nice! Especially the yukata *__*). Kinda refreshing you ask me, because I totally hate anime in which the character never ever get a second outfit. And it's always a pleasure for me to watch Watanuki being bullied by Yuuko XD. Much as Yuuko enjoyed it so do I (I love it the most when she bullied Watanuki with this ^___^ face XD).

Another reason I like this anime a lot is the theme of this anime's exactly the type I like to watch - supernatural and full of weird stuff. Actually it reminds me a bit of Mushishi, but Mushishi's not as funny as this one. Besides, it's good that there's a nice deep meaning behind every episodes of it... Plus the story's original and creative. I can't predict what's going to happen in the next 10 minutes even if I wanted to because there's no cliché at all in this.

And oh besides Yuuko, Doumeki seems to enjoy bullying Watanuki as well because Watanuki's reactions are simply too amusing to watch after he got bullied. Oh how I love DoumekixWatanuki (I mean friendship, not yaoi, don't think too far). And by the way Doumeki reminds me of a friend of mine with the stony facial expressions and the way he treated Watanuki (the same way she treated me XD). Doumeki~~♥~~ (why do I always fall for anime characters who're in Japanese Archery Club?? orz).

Man I was so worried for Watanuki in episode 23. I nearly thought he's gonna die or something if it hasn't been for Doumeki who saved him at the last minute. Although Watanuki's always shouting here and there like a maniac, but when he fell sick everyone's so worried for him ヾ(≧Д≦)ノ~ Watanuki's another main character in the movie and since he's young he's been "attracting" supernatural beings like spirits and stuff. So one day he stepped into Yuuko's shop and Yuuko practically forced him to work for her in the shop XD. Although he's a guy but he knows how to cook, bake, clean the house and all plus his food's all so delicious (he's like the perfect guy XD). But how can he be so dense? He can't even get it when Zashiki Warashi's (I love Zashiki Warashi's cute little followers who wear sunnies by the way XD) trying to confess to him by giving the ohagi to him in earlier episodes.

Episode 18 in this anime's my personal favourite. I don't know why but this episode reminds me a lot of Miyazaki's Spirited Away. Maybe it's because of those monsters of all all kinds? *Laughs*. And Episode 22's kinda touching as well. Last but not least is the last episode. It's a nice finishing episode which tells us a little bit of Watanuki's history with supernatural beings. Warming and rounds up the whole anime really well ^^.

Soundtrack of this anime's superb and matching. Especially one of the soundtracks which is named "Shizuka na Hibi". Somehow this soundtrack reminds me of Japan during autumn and I wish that I can listen to this soundtrack while watching red maple leaves and drinking red tea (´ー｀) (but too bad that will never happen I think orz). Final verdict for the soundtrack and the theme songs of this anime: 8.2 out of 10 ^o^.

Overall anime rating: 8.6 out of 10. Too bad the artwork seems to be a little bit not that perfect, but the story's really good. And I'd recommend it to anybody who like Honey and Clover or Mushishi or anything with supernatural things. My next anime would be the 13-episode Bartender. Stay tuned for my review XD.

Today I went out with my dad to do some PC accessories shopping (this is NOT the main point).

And then! We had our lunch at Xi Men Ting (西门町) Taiwan Food Restaurant!

Thanks to Kohaku-san, I've discovered one more nice restaurants to go to when I need some decent chinese food.

Oh and I've got a college bag as well. Actually I'm sort of lazy to take a picture of it since it looks super ordinary and normal but someone (*Ahem*) wanted to see it so here it is, the legendary bag (=____=).

It looks ordinary right?? Told ya. But I bought it because it's big and I can put a lot of things in it (hehe). Plus I don't want some flashy bag to show off to everybody and make people hate me XD.

Lately I've been digging more and more Coldplay's stuff (thanks to Saga who mentioned it in his blog, making me ever so curious to see what Coldplay's got to show me).

First, I started off by doing a thorough research on this group. OK, not really thorough, but the achievements do impressed me a lot.

And as I'm listening to their latest album, "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends", their rock sounds softer than usual J-Rock I used to listen to. And I love Violet Hill a lot. I always love songs in which the music brings about a hint of danger (that's the best I can describe the feel Violet Hill's music gave me).


No wonder Violet Hill's such a hit. Plus I love the lyrics XD.

Detective Conan: Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure Review

Although this movie came out last year, I've just watched it 2 days ago. And don't get me wrong, I'm still the biggest fan of Detective Conan. It's just that, well, when you have all the time in the world to enjoy something nice, why rush? XD. OK that's an excuse I know, I can't believe I've postpone watching a movie for one YEAR. I really should stop getting more and more animes so that I can finish the ones on my hands first before I postpone them to even later. Overall, I quite like the theme of this movie - Friendship. It's been some time since Aoyama sensei uses something so delicate as a main theme and I can't say that I'm not happy for it. Although the minus point of this movie is that it reminds me a lot of another movie of Detective Conan - Detective Conan: Strategy Above the Depths. OK, maybe not a lot, but still the setting is somewhere near the sea and all. I expected something different ya know, unless of course the creator loves the sea so much then of course I have nothing else to say.

The movie starts off well from the witnessing of murder in water by Ran and her best buddy Sonoko, at least from here I can tell that Gosho's trying to add more suspense into the game and it's clicking well. Plus, I can see the improvement in this movie as new elements and that "ohm feeling" is in the movie as well. And I say the production of the movie's quite detailed and precise since I can't really pick out any huge flaws in this movie, from smooth animation to echo voices in the cave, I love the whole package of it ^^. I was actually sighing with contentment because it's been some time since there's a high-quality mystery in this anime instead of those pathetic mystery cases where I can solve with my imagination and can even spot some huge defect in the theory.

Anyway, if you're a Conan fan and is trying to get more of RanxShinichi or AixConan out of this movie, get something else instead of this. Seriously, there's very little of those romance stuff in this movie *coughmaybebecausethecretorgotdivorcedlastyearcough*. *Ahem*. Anyhow, I like the way Conan and Haibara cooperated in this movie. Finally Haibara is acting like herself unlike in those TV episodes where I keep watching with mild frustration since Conan and Haibara're busy trying to act like kids all the time.

Let's get back to the main topic. Artwork in this anime is good as usual (very Gosho style) and basically I've got nothing to say about its artwork since I'm so used to Detective Conan already. So I'm not in a place to criticize about its artwork since I will be seriously biased in my judgment. As for the storyline however, the story's well constructed, but somehow the story's kinda lagging in the middle if I'm not mistaken. It's like, the murder in the water is so exciting that it waters down the rest of the movie except for the end. I hope you get what I mean XD. But the setting is totally not my taste. I always loved mysteries which involve mansion, castle, secret tunnels, underground chamber and stuffs. But this, with sunny beach and sparkling sea as the setting, is not really my cup of tea. But it's still good nevertheless. It's just that I'm not one who have extra affection for the sea that's all.

The epilogue after the rolling credits is SO NICE! X) LOL OK I know it's because of Shinichi but... but... OK, it's just because of Shinichi. XD. I think I would hyperventilate if Gosho Aoyama produce a movie with NO Conan but JUST Shinichi in it. But I don't think that ever likely to happen since the name of the anime is Detective CONAN not Detective Shinichi OTL *sighs*. Oh well.

Besides, I totally *heart* the theme song of the anime! "Nanatsunoumi o Wataru Kaze no you ni (七つの海を渡る風のように)" by Rina Aiuchi & U-ka Saegusa!! Both my favourite female Japanese singer! XDXDXD. Is it a coincidence that this time it's two person instead of one who did the theme song? I don't think so ^^. And the acoustic guitar at the end of the movie is a nice touch to the anime *thumbs up*. So my rating for the soundtracks and theme songs of the anime is 8.2 out of 10.

For this movie, I'd give a rating of 7.8 out of 10. I would've give it an 8 if the story's not watered down in the middle. But anyway it's a nice movie overall *wink*.

Now I'm watching xxxHolic. So far, so good XD. I'll do the review when I'm done with it ^^.

The Feeling is Here

It's here.

That feeling of utmost fear and at the same time weird kind of anticipation for the "restart" of my study life.

It feels like going back to the first day of school all over again.

Only this time, it's here 2 weeks earlier than it's supposed to *sweat*.

Thinking about it makes me feel like going to the toilet and put my index finger into my throat.

Seriously.

I guess the main reason this happens earlier than I'd expected it to is that I'm also planning to move into a room which is much more nearer to where I'm going to study.

A whole new alien surrounding.

I know, I'm might be over-reacting but still, facing a whole new study environment is worse enough for me, and now living environment as well???

Luckily my housemates seem friendly enough to me, and I still got my beloved internet connection with me, thank goodness.

But, starting from July this year, I'm going to be completely independent and live by my own, feed myself and all those stuff.

I'm in the middle of a panic phrase now.

And lately, I heard people keep telling me that "CAT/ACCA will eat you alive girl!!".

Yes. I know, claiming your undying love for someone/something is dangerous.

I've listened to Rainbows Preview for the second time today and it gives a better feeling every time I listen to it. Shou is loved. alice nine. is loved. And the new Gekko Yoku PV! b(♥o♥)d. And my gosh Hiroto is getting HOTTER AND HOTTER than ever. Not to mention Saga keeping to his promise, looking *coughsexierandsexiercough* in every PV... orz..................
(And to tell the truth I was actually fangirl screaming while I was watching Gekko Yoku Preview PV OTL omg what's happening to me XD)



Okay, Hiroto getting hotter is one thing. But seriously I thought he's having a spasm (the jerk of the leg) in the preview XDXDXD.

For their outlook/style, alice nine. is really going for pop this time... Truthfully speaking, actually I prefer them more at the Tsubasa./Jewels/White Prayer era. Somehow to me they looked best in that kind of way instead of now which is more and more pop-ish.

THANKFULLY, their songs are still ROCK! Thank goodness. Although the way Shou "Sora e!~~" in Rainbows somewhat sounds a bit like 1980's to me, the rest is pretty good. And in my honest opinion, the rhythm group (drums and bass) did a great job this time. Bravo Nao and Saga!

Okay, I must have been watching Gekko Yoku and listening to Rainbows repeatedly for the N-times now. Alice nine overdose XD. I think I'd better stop now before I turn my post into a novel on how I love alice nine. XD.

Spammed!

Funny as it is, I found this Viagra spam mail sitting in my mailbox. And you know what, I was wondering what the heck it's doing in my INBOX instead of the SPAM section. And I mean, Hello? Viagra?? They should totally have a more sophisticated and smart auto-mailing system to promote their Viagra brand. I mean, does my e-mail address yvonnesasoon at hotmail dot com sounds like a guy's mail address to you? Surely not.

And one more thing is, why is Viagra the only one which sends spam mail to e-mail accounts? Hey, I'd like to receive some spam mail on the latest anime or manga or restaurant or softwares or whatever. Be it spam or not, I'll read whatever that's related to my field of interests ya know.

Okay, that's it about Viagra. Today I went out with some old friends of mine and I must say it's quite an enjoyable outing? Although we went to somewhere near and mainly it's just talk and gossip but it's nice nevertheless. Actually we were planning to check out the new cafe but in the end we just went for McDonald's since the stuff in the cafe's sort of expensive and we feel like eating high-calories burgers anyway XD. But somehow I felt kind of sad and stuff since this Kim and Sis in Law got their "target" already but so far for me it's still Shinichi or Shou or Solomon. OTL. I need to start college as soon as possible XD.

I've started to re-listen to my old songs lately. It's nice to take a pause and look back at something sometimes, if you get what I mean. Re-listening to one of my most favourite Japanese songs "Wasurezaki" (忘れ咲) by Garnet Crow now gives me a good, reminiscent and familiar feeling. In fact, this particular song is the very key song which got me into liking Japanese songs in the first place. It's also one of the ending theme songs of Detective Conan, the anime which got me into watching anime in the first place. So basically this song means a lot to me.

P.S I'm STILL using dial-up. Don't get me started about it *grabs hair in frustration*.

My Feeling Now = LOW

And a little bit of angry as well.

You see, generally, I'm not a person who likes to complain and tell you how I hate my life. But this time, I'm definitely making an exception because for this week up until today, life sucks for me.

How suck it is? You might ask.

Well, take Monday for starters, my connection went busted and the ADSL light on my modem is blinking. I don't even know what caused it and this actually is what driving me mad because if I know what caused this I would've fix the problem myself if I have the ability to do so. So I called the person in charge and the person told me technicians will be coming over WITHIN two days. So I was like, Oh, ok then, I'll wait don't worry. So I spent the rest of the day drowning myself with anime and movies. And oh did I tell you that I have to revert to dial-up for connecting to the internet? Even viewing this particular blog of mine takes 5 minutes, that is, if you're willing to wait that long to view all the components in here.

And so I stepped into Tuesday. STILL, the damned technicians were not here yet. And I felt worse because I heard that I have to wait around one week for them. So much for efficiency. Even so, I tend to look out the window whenever some vehicle passed by, basically, I'm desperately hoping for them to come. I was even thinking of driving to the headquarter myself and INVITE them to come and FIX my problem which if I'm not mistaken wouldn't even take more than half an hour for them. Tuesday, 5p.m, I gave up waiting for technicians.

Ok I'll stop talking about the connection thing. What made me felt worse is that I'm coughing+sore throat+flu. How great is that? Not to mention thick phlegm clinging to my throat, irritating me to the max every waking second.

And also, I found out that once again, I've hurt/offended someone whom I thought that I was close to. Something is very wrong with me I think. Me being too honest/direct/speak whatever I wanted to when I'm talking to close friends is now somewhat a liability for me. So from now on, even though I'm close to someone, I'll continue to be formal and official and continue to wear my mask. I guess having this kind of things happened twice this year is a warning to me and I think this shattered my confidence to ever be close friends to anyone. I ought to know, I can only take off my mask when I'm with my family members.

So, today I called again since two days is up and the technicians were nowhere to be seen. Unsurprisingly, the woman asked me to wait till FIVE P.M. and see if the technicians are here yet. So I was like "So that means that if they're not here until 5 I'll have to call again tomorrow?" which she replied "YES" somewhat annoyingly in my opinion. I was practically restraining myself so that I wouldn't burst cursing whoever it is on the phone with me that time. I was that mad. I mean, DON'T PROMISE anyone anything when you know very well that you can't keep up to what you've promised. Jeez. So I slammed the phone down and wait again. And guess what? 5p.m. came and went and I can't see any technicians in view. GREAT.

This week is so not my week. Something is wrong with the stars and stuff. I'm pretty sure of it. Anyway, end of my angry ranting post. Thanks for listening.

Honey and Clover OST

FINALLY I've found my MOST favourite Honey and Clover original soundtrack.

I'm just so happy, beyond happy in fact.

I can't believe my ears can be so joyful when I listened to the OST.

Also, I can't believe that an anime can be SO SUCCESSFUL that, EVEN IT'S OST can cheer me up.

Listening to "Bonbon Bereppa" theme song and "Takurami ni Ki wo Tsukero!" made me laugh like heck, probably because in the anime, these two soundtracks always come up with some real funny scenes...usually related to Morita. And now listening to the soundtrack made me remember certain super funny scenes from Honey and Clover.

Meanwhile, listening to "Yawarakana Jikan" and "Koi ni Katachi, Ai no Katachi" made me feel reflective/contemplative. There's a night when I was thinking of something then this "Yawarakana Jikan" comes up and suddenly I found a drop of tear flowing down. Gee, I can't believe it.

My point is, if you're a fan of Honey and Clover, get the soundtrack and listen to it (I'll upload it on mediafire later when my connection is back). If you've never watch Honey and Clover before, GO AND WATCH IT NOW. (Then tell me about it ^^)

*Sighs* I miss Honey and Clover~~ Man I'm definitely watching it after I'm done with D. Conan. Pick some random episodes and let Morita and the gang cheer my day up (episode 1 is always my favourite, then in the end I would just watch the whole thing without missing an episode XD).

(Early) Father's Day Celebration

Father's Day celebration's a day earlier for my family this year (last night).

One of the reasons is that today's also the third year since my grandfather had passed away.

Nah, we didn't go to any glamour places or classy restaurants.

Usually, for this type of event, we celebrate it with the family.

Each year, it's held in one of the family member's house.

And as usual, it's a nice good food feast.

I didn't take much pictures, because I was too busy getting my hands on yummy food XD.


The one on the left is Butter Prawns (I think) and the one on the left is Yong Tau Foo (ladyfinger).

Other dishes include coffee chicken, fried rice, pork stew, fried vermicelli, curry chicken and so on.

After that we watched a movie called "Woman Quanba". Packed full of action and smooth movements. Halfway through the middle of the movie, me and my cousin agreed that the design of the fighting style is quite good. The only annoying thing is the girl's Bruce-Lee-style shouting in the beginning of every kick or punch. Overall, not bad for an action movie.

Well...father's day celebration is pretty simple...I wish it can be more special...actually I was thinking of buying an ice-cream cake for my dad but I was wondering if he'll lecture me on money?

I would so totally buy my mom and dad something on their day when I'm working and have my own income.

Grandpa, now you must be enjoying your tea and drawing with grandma by your side up there. Don't worry, all of us are doing fine here.

Gakuen Heaven Review

Okay, if you know what type of genre Gakuen Heaven is categorized under, don't say anything. I know very well what I've watched this time *sweat*. So! Umm... where to start? Alright, let's start this off with how I've bought this anime in the first place. I bought this anime last year when I was still kind of a newbie in the anime world. And that time, I saw this anime and I thought that the art was kind of good, plus I've looked it up in anime news network and the anime seemed fine to me. And so I bought it and it sat in my room for more than one year (I think) before I got it out recently to watch it.

Then, I realized --- it's yaoi O______O. And I have no idea it's yaoi until I watch it! Seriously! When I bought this anime I don't even know what's yaoi and yuri for goodness sake, let alone recognizing one. So don't look at me with that look. XD. Anyway, I think this is the first time I'm watching a yaoi anime and reviewing one (I was wondering if I should even write a review on it *sweat*). So here I am, keeping to my promise by reviewing every anime I've watched since the establishment of this blog. But to tell the truth say you're looking for an anime full of hot guys, this is a good choice LOL.

First of all, artwork. The artwork is pretty nice, except that the animation is less...smooth. The whole thing seems very hard and lifeless. Plus there are a lot of unmoving moments. So much that I can notice that fact. But the character designs are quite good. Actually in my opinion, Kazuki should be the main character instead of Keita. Keita reminds me annoyingly of Miaka from Fushigi Yuugi, you know, red hair, big eyes, pathetic traits and all. Keita is basically the male version of Miaka. XD. Kazuki will be a much better main character than him. =__=ll.

And what sends me to giggles is the name of the school. The school name is [B]ell [L]iberty High School. Get what I mean? XD. This must be the creator's personal joke. Anyway, the content of this anime is highly implausible. I mean, this is a school right? And yet I've seen these characters running around the school doing things OTHER THAN studies. They didn't seem to have classes to go to. I only saw Keita attending his class ONCE. Other characters, NONE. And Keita even let Naruse (who is a total stranger to him that time) to kiss him without any defense!

Kissing and hugging scenes aside, the characters are all real hotties. My personal pick would be Matsuoka Jin and Shinomiya Koji. Ah~ such hotties *fantasize* XD. And how in the world 50% of the time my hotties end up to be the bad guys? Something's seriously wrong with me. No matter, let me get back to the topic. Did I mention that the creator loves to create yaoi-imagination inducing stuff? But in the end it's not even the real thing XD. Plus you know what? There is not even one female in this anime. Unbelievable? Watch it for yourself XD.

In this anime I would like to bring attention to this character - Umino Satochi sensei. Although he's supposed to be the oldest character in the anime, yet he looks the youngest of all. And he looks like a female in addition. And the part where he yanked open the thick metal door in one of the episodes made me go laughing non-stop. Oh yeah there is also the "ultimate" kissing of the two main characters in the last episode *sweat*. But somehow I've expected that so I wasn't really O___O kind of surprised.

I don't really have any comments for the soundtrack and the theme songs of this anime. So no rating is given for that.

For the anime, the rating will be 5.8 out of 10. Artwork is good but lifeless, storyline slightly pointless, normal soundtrack and theme songs. I don't recommend this anime but if say you're curious of how a yaoi anime should be then maybe you can have a go. And according to wiki, this is actually a PC game gradually expanded to include three PlayStation 2 games, drama cds, manga and anime. OTL. I can't believe this. Anyway, that's it for Gakuen Heaven review. I'm going to stop watching new animes for the moment and catch up a bit on my Detective Conan. I miss Kudo Shinichi already. XD.

After nearly three months of using my "old" blogger layout (that blue one with the rose header, in case you forgot), I've *finally* decided to give my blog a new look.

It's not easy you know, especially designing and modifying my brand new header. And also adjusting the things in the sidebar.

I have no idea how in the world Siew Lee can keep changing her layout so often.
(I would have been to lazy to do that XP)

I think I kind of like this new layout. Clean, simple and nice. No strong colours. I'll be using it for quite some time I hope, changing the header from time to time maybe?

As Promised

Let me present the stinky tofu (臭豆腐) and char kueh (炒煎糕) to you.

Stinky Tofu (臭豆腐)

This, is the legendary stinky tofu. No it's not just the name. It IS stinky. A popular street snack in Hong Kong and China, stinky and ever-so-popular. Best with preserved cabbage and super spicy chili sauce. Also best served hot. Crispy and hard on the outside, white and soft on the inside. For first timers, it is recommended that you eat this while pinching your nose.

Char Kueh (炒煎糕)

I love this A LOT. It looks un-appetizing but it's super delicious. The cubes you saw in this are steamed white kueh. These cubed white kueh is wok-fried with egg, beansprouts and preserved white carrot. Some (like me) prefer it most when chili paste is added into the mixture during the fry. Yummy!

(Although I just had it, I'm salivating again when I look at the pictures XD).

Today...

...is one of those days in which I felt completely achieved and satisfied and successful and accomplished.

(She's going to launch into semi-nerd technical jabber with some jargons so please ignore her if you don't understand it)

First of all, I've managed to work myself around with layers and the rectangular marquee tool and the free transform functions some other stuffs in Adobe Photoshop CS3. But that's not the main reason I'm feeling so accomplished.

Secondly, I've managed to solve this trouble for the bootable version of Windows XP where the installation of the OS is unable to recognize my SATA hard disk. I solved this problem by getting XP with the latest Service Pack 3 and the SATA FDD driver (.inf file) and slipstreamed (yes I've just learned this term recently, not even my dad heard of it *smug* it sounds so nice isn't it?) the driver into this bootable version of XP by using nLite (I LOVE this freeware).

THAT is the main reason I felt so smug and accomplished.

And then, when I slipped the bootable CD in and load it --- Voilà!!! Finally XP installation managed to recognize my SATA hard disk.

After that, for the first time in my life, I've completely set up not one, but TWO operating system on my new lappie independently without anyone's help.

Not to mention breaking down former partitions, rebuild my new partitions and format the hard disks the way I like it before I install the two OS (I did this in XP installation).

And after launching XP successfully, I proceed to install my Vista single-handedly. ヾ( ´ー｀)

I felt so spiritually complete I need to jot this down somehow so that later on I can reread it XD.

Now I shall reveal my personal MOST FAVOURITE CHOCOLATE collection!

First of all ---


This, is Côte d'Or dark chocolate with whole hazelnuts. You know, I'm not someone who love nuts but for this I'll make an exception! Smooth, not-too-sweet dark chocolate with crunchy nutty hazelnuts, always my perfect snack. d(≧∀≦)b~

Second ---


This, is Cadbury's dairy milk chocolate with Crunchie's honeycomb bits. Dear readers, I bet you have tried the Cadbury's Crunchie candy bar before? This is roughly the same thing, the difference is instead of the candy bar it's Crunchie's golden honeycomb pieces embedded in nice smooth milk chocolate. Need I say more? ;P

Third ---


Introducing Cadbury's dairy milk chocolate with smooth flowing Peppermint. Personally, I love this flavour the most. Inside every cube of Cadbury's dairy milk chocolates there's smooth flowing sweet Peppermint. Truly remarkable flavour. I love to eat this after dinner.

Coming up ---


Look at Cadbury's Marble - milk chocolate and white chocolate blend with Hazelnut Praline centre. Gosh, even the name sounds tasty. Marble. And too bad my camera phone's resolution is totally lousy. If you get to look at the picture of the chocolate real close, you'll mouth-water even by just looking at it.

Lastly ---


Meet Cadbury's dairy milk chocolate with Hazelnuts. Well, basically it's just milk chocolate with hazelnuts lol. Nothing special. XD.

Those are my favourite collection of chocolate bars. Will update when I bought more chocolate bars (which will probably in the next few years XD). Oh, and please note that I bought all these special-flavoured chocolate bars (except the Cadbury's Hazelnut) in international airport. Death Note Review

I must admit, I finished Death Note's 37 episodes complete in a top speed. It's THAT good. This masterpiece is really as good as the others have told me. And my anime instincts are correct after all. I know, I should've watch this last year. But well if you know me well enough, I always save those nice stuffs till the end. LOL. This is a truly anime addict must-watch. If you're doubting, let this review convince you to watch this spectacular piece.

First of all, the artwork of this anime is utterly finger-licking good. The anime did a very good impression from the first episode. Realistic, detailed and dark, this anime cuts off all kinds of fantasy-oriented style of artwork. Plus, if you notice carefully, you will not find any chibi-style or fun-style artwork in this anime. This is something to be praised because most of the anime out there must have these two styles to attract audience. And the setting in this anime is to be applauded - realistic and honest. But although the artwork is good, the shinigamis are real grotesque lol. So if you want to avoid having nightmares you might not want to watch this anime.

The storyline of this anime is utterly superb. Twist and turns everywhere, not to mention miniature climax in every episode. If you're a person who enjoys intellectual competition and challenges, this couldn't be a more prefect anime for you. Ingenious but yet down-to-earth solutions for every conflict that occurred, the creator must have squeezed a lot of brain juice for this. And I appreciate it a lot because I can't find any other anime like this, awesomely unique and original. To tell the truth, Death Note never failed to excite me in every episode, the plotting is just too good, too delicious.

This anime can be separated into two parts, first part is the battle between Raito and L, the second being the battle between Near+Mello versus Raito. Of course, the battle between Raito and L is much more exciting than Near+Mello because somehow the stakes are higher in the first battle. I love the relationship of Raito and L a lot, enemy and best friend at the same time. But at last the devil power of Death Note won, causing the death of L (spoilers! XD) eventually. In addition, the way authors kept adding new characters into the game such as professional Liars and Thief is a good tactic to keep us the audience interested.

Besides, I totally *heart* the episode in which L dies. That episode, in my opinion, is the most special of all. It has this personal touch to it, mainly focusing on Raito and L's unique relationship. The way L kept hearing those bell ringing sound audible only to him, the way L cared about Raito, the way Raito treated L as a buddy, this particular episode made my tears fell down unconsciously. Especially when L fell from the chair and Raito caught him without much thinking. And by the way, I totally love how L and Raito fights LOL. I really can't imagine these two highly-intellect characters actually fighting physically (Raito with his fist and L with his feet XD) before I really saw it with my own eyes. Seriously, these two are so cute. And OMG what is Raito and L doing in episode 25 after the rain??? It's kind of misleading in my opinion (yes my brain is shouting "yaoi!" when I saw it) but I don't think the creator meant it that way. Oh well.

As for the characters...Hmm...

Let's start off with Raito. This total hottie is tall, handsome, intelligent, and all the other nice features you can find in a guy. And by the way Raito's voice is the sexiest of all, well, it's Miyano Mamoru after all, so I can say it's totally expected XD. Too bad he got controlled by the dark powers of Death Note, which drives him to the brink of total craziness. What a waste. But still he's hot. And I have to say, Miyano Mamoru is one heck of a good seiyuu. Raito's character is played perfectly by him, bravo, Miyano-san! But one thing I don't understand is, how come Raito didn't kill Mello personally when he first knew his name through Yagami Ichiro? Is it possible that the creator overlook something?

Next, L aka Ryuzaki. Weirdo, but superb logic and reasoning skills. And one thing is I love the way he reasons everything, he never goes back in his reasoning process, although the facts he gathered might not be confirmed or certified. And this is one of the reason he managed to guess Raito is Kira (I never like this calling). Plus, L's confident but sometimes the solutions he took to solve problems can be considered as dramatic and unstable. And you know what?? The seiyuu for L in this anime is Kappei Yamaguchi!! One of my favourite seiyuu!!! *Heart*~~ Ahh~~ Kudo Shinichi~ I miss you~ (Sorry for the slight runaway, *ahem* let's get back to the main topic). To tell the truth, throughout this whole anime, L is the one who managed who made me ROFL everytime, let me tell you the points where I go ROFL:

1. After L pick pocketed Misa's handphone, Raito called Misa. L picked up the phone with a "もしもし？" in this cute curious tone which drives Raito crazy and barks at L "何がもしもし??" in this =___= way.
   
2. As L's being watched by the security camera (which in turn the feed is watched by Matsuda) he said "Matsuda's being a baka as usual" XD. To which Matsuda replied "I can hear that you know =__=..." LOL.
   
3. Misa's commercial effect on L XD.
   
4. L's love for sweet snacks.
   
5. L's seem-to-be-innocent sarcasm to Misa "even if you eat a lot of sweet stuff, if you keep using your brain, you wouldn't become fat".
   
6. L asked one of the officers to keep things confidential by "Here, I give you this strawberry, and you in turn keep this a secret for me" XD.
   
7. L is forced to act along in the Matsuda episode.
   

So now, for the second part of Death Note. Actually, the combination of Near+Mello is not so bad after all. And you know what? I actually enjoyed looking at Near's kind-of-horrible facial expression when she discovered a crucial point. Seriously. But Mello's too violent for my flavour. LOL. But actually I'm sort of looking forward to see Mello's true potential. So far I've already seen Raito, L, and Near's brilliant performance, but not Mello's. How unfair. But without Mello's sacrifice, Near would never be able to beat Raito. Mello, the hero! The key sacrifice to end the further corrosion of the sekai. Hats down to you, Mello.

The end of the anime is a well orchestrated one. Nothing spectacular to mention, but it was smooth and appropriate overall. But one thing I have to say is that the way Mikami Teru spurts out the blood is way funny. I mean, I know the place where a knife stuck in involves a lot of high-pressured blood vessels, but I don't think blood will spurts out like some kind of fountain out of that wound for like, 20 seconds or so in the anime. So I can't help but laugh all the way when I was watching that. But how Raito can see an illusion/ghost of L when he was closing his eyes is a nice touch for the end.

The soundtrack for this anime is very good. Matching and up-beat. L's theme B is my personal favourite. As for the theme songs, the first opening and ending theme song are done well by Nightmare (J-Rock Visual Kei band). If you don't already know, I'm a J-Rock fan and am totally thrilled+pleased to have J-Rock songs as theme songs for the anime. As for the rest of the theme song...sweat. The others are just basically shouting, not nice at all. So overall, I'd give a rating of 8.0 out of 10 for the soundtracks and theme songs of the anime.

As for the rating of this anime, my final verdict would be a rating of 9.2 out of 10. It's pretty perfect overall, just a little bit of imperfections. Ah well, not everything is perfect isn't it? So far, if I'm not mistaken this is the highest marks I've given to an anime in a review? Good job, Desu Noto.

The next anime would be Gakuen Heaven. A short, 13 episoded anime.
