Favourite Quotes

Just realised I haven't make a post of my most favourite quotes here. I believe that a person's favourite quotes somewhat reflect part of, if not all, of that person's inner thoughts. It either shapes or be shaped by the person's views and perspectives, so in a sense it's bidirectional. You don't like a quote which says "Chocolates are the only food from heaven" (for eg.) if you can't bring yourself to even taste the revolting brown goo (I can't believe I just said that about chocolates, what is wrong with me?). Anyway, here goes:

You can be mad as a mad dog at the way things went;
You can swear and curse the fates;
But when it comes to the end, you have to let go.
~ Benjamin Button, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
~ Mark Twain.

My shield depends upon God, who saves the upright in heart.
~ Psalm 7:10.

"Perfer et obdura; dolor hic tibi proderit olim.”
[“Be patient and tough; someday this pain will be useful to you.”]
~ Joyce Conway, Thanks for the Memories.

An idea is like a virus, resilient, highly contagious. The smallest seed of an idea can grow. It can grow to define or destroy you.
~ Cobb, Inception.

Time is too slow for those who wait,
time is too swift for those who fear,
time is too long for those who grieve,
but for those who love, those who are loved,
time is eternity.
~ Henry van Dyke.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want; He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.
~ Psalm 23.

"ああ... 俺は... 世界を殺し... 世界を創る..."
["Ahh... I... kill the world... create the world..."]
~ ルルーシュ・ランペルージ, コードギアス .
[~ Lelouch Lamperouge, Code Geass.]

All you can do is enjoy this beautiful day, because we get so few of it.
~ Mary Alice Young, Desperate Housewives.

Life is much too important to be taken seriously.
~ Oscar Wilde.

"If you love something let it go,
If it comes back to you it's yours,
If it doesn't, it never was."

"Imperfections are what makes the world perfect."

The flow of time cleanses the past and heals the wounds in people's hearts.
~ Komatsu Nana, NANA.

So, have we solved the secret of happiness?
"I believe so," he said.
Are you going to tell me?
"Yes. Ready?"
Ready.
"Be satisfied."
That's it?
"Be grateful."
That's it?
"For what you have. For the love you receive. And for what God has given you."
That's it?
He looked me in the eye. Then he sighed deeply.
"That's it."
~ Mitch Albom, Have a Little Faith.

Girls flirt with the dangerous guy, Logan. They don't take him home. They marry the good guy.
~ Jean Grey, X2.

Never place your happiness in other's hand no matter how much you love them, and be happy just by being you.
~ A friend, I believe.

Better Than Fast Food

Sausage+egg+Korean instant noodle=Quick and simple yum.

Yeah...had this for lunch... best to go with a movie and peach iced tea... =D

Anyway, I found out that Miley Cyrus's gonna be starring in one of Nicholas Sparks movie. The Last Song or something like that. Omg... horror... lol, kidding. I have nothing against her but I can easily name a few who can't stand her xD

But do try the sausage egg noodles when you have the ingredients, it's very similar to one of the menu items served in regular Hong Kong diners ;)

DORIAN GRAY!

I HAVE to watch this.

I hope I don't have to tell you to look carefully and ensure that the realization of DORIAN GRAY=PRINCE CASPIAN dawn upon you? Bahaahaa.

Yes, a classic I love so much, even though I've never read it (umm wtf?), is going to be on screen soon, starring an actor whom I nosebled before from Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Now, don't you think the world looks more beautiful already? LOL.

LOOK at that poster!!! *Swoons*

And anyway yes that's Colin Firth, and I know he looks *coughsoomgfunnaycough* but hey, the highlight's supposed to be Ben Barnes isn't it?? Yeah, ouch for Colin Firth (Shadows: Sorry! Don't hit me! XD), yay for Prince Caspian! I mean Ben Barnes (there's something lame about the name, imho.)

I hope this movie rocks as much as League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (LXG). It's a movie I love ever since 2003 when it first came out. Very creative, very exciting, and by the way there's Dorian Gray in it too but as one-of-the-many leading characters not the main character. That Dorian Gray was acted by Stuart Townsend though, not that I mind, since I think he fits the character quite well too.

Can't wait can't wait can't wait!!! :D

Satisfaction of a Poet

I used to hate poems and poets. I hate the kind of confusion a poem left me, where I felt lost and blinded after reading the poem, not knowing what to do or what to say, let alone what should I feel, especially when words can be played so ingeniously by the poet.

But I realized that there is a certain satisfaction when you're a poet. It's the same kind of satisfaction where you yell to the world in an unknown language, nobody really knows what you're talking about, and yet it's always accessible to them, so it's up to them to decide if they choose to care about you, learn the language and see the world through your eyes, or just leave it and pretend nothing ever happened.

It is also convenient that you can hide nasty comments in between the lines, where no one can really see it, yet it's there, blatantly obvious to you, but not others, isn't that satisfactory? :) Besides, there're just some things that you don't spat it out to people you know. So in a way, you can say those things in an indirect way, without suppressing your real feelings, and available for everyone to see :D

But still I hate poems xDD

Best Thing

You wanna know the best thing about Desperate Housewives Season 4??

The grown-up Andrew.

So forgiving, and so independent.

That must be the best thing, if not Top 3, of this season.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry. She reminds me of Rose McGowan. Or Keira Knightley. Or a cross of both. Fair skinned, exotic, with bright red lipstick.

But she carries herself in a more bad-girl way than Rose McGowan. Something notable.

A video.

Don't worry, I'm not her fan or whatever, my love for J-rock's still hot and burning =D

Man...

As if entrapping me into the never ending black hole of TS1 and TS2 is not enough, they now have TS3 as well.

TS1 and TS2's so different that it made me went crazy over TS2. And although from the screenshots TS3 looks much alike as TS2, but in the VIDEO they really got my eyes wide opened (but sadly, not really excited for it).

Damm. I wonder if I'll be playing TS30 when I'm like, 50 years old. *Swt*

The thing about this game is that I can build houses any way I want them to be.

This game's somewhat a virtual version of barbie games, but weirdly I hate barbies ever since I was young.

Talk about irony. =.=ll

Sh1t I'm supposed to be studying for test.

Despise

Look at this picture and tell me what's wrong.

The two female customers had already left when I took this picture.

Note that the dish of food's still full nearly to the brim and the drinks were left there after one or two sips.

I wonder what did that two person eat?? Like, one or two sips of barley drink, two or three mouthfuls of noodle, and left???

I got a feeling that they will be born in South Africa in their next life. Karma. Karma.

Meryl Streep

Anyone of you watch The Devil Wears Prada before?

Meryl Streep played as Miranda in that movie.

And her role in this movie's one of the most impressive ones in my opinion, along with Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump and Heath Ledger in Dark Knight.

I really like how she played Miranda in her own unique way. Somehow when I read the book, Miranda's softer and not as arrogant as the Miranda Meryl played in the movie.

Which absolutely highlighted Miranda's character in the movie.

Let's take a look in Devil Wears Prada shall we?

I *LOVE* her elegant smile in this movie. Very.

Stunning, professional, and classy. Thumbs-up d(≧∀≦)b

And although I enjoyed Mamma Mia! the movie, her role in the movie loathes me. Lol.

When I saw her I was like "OMFG what happened to the elegant Meryl Streep?!", in my heart, of course ;)

I mean, just see it yourself!

You can see wrinkles and all the other signs that tell you "OLD".

And OMG, I don't even wanna talk about this picture.

I rewatched Devil Wears Prada again the other day, it's a really good movie =)

How Good is Technology?

You know sometimes I don't really think it's healthy that we're relying a bit too much on technology, socially-wise.

All those IMs, mobile text messaging service, and so on.

What's funny is that we're depending a lot on these devices to communicate and maintain relationships.

Which, sometimes, when I think about it, is really pathetic.

I'm not trying to offend or anything, since most of you already know that I will die without Internet XD.

But I'm too immersed in it now that it sets me off thinking, "Is this healthy?"

80% of my off-college days social interactions are based on these devices.

It doesn't feel healthy.

And sometimes I prefer these instead of real-life interactions.

But I know very well that it's not 100% earnest and truthful.

There are more chance for us to coax, to deceive, to create a beautiful, evidence-less web of lies if we choose to.

Sometimes I thought, "What happened to letters?"

I always thought that letters are romantic and filled with emotions from our very own handwriting.

Once, I read from the papers that there's a guy from China who does nothing but online everyday and when provoked by his parents he claimed that he did have a few close friends.

Whom he do not know of the face and background.

Hey, these things happen.

Does it feel right?

It depends on you.

But to me, I don't feel that it's quite natural and "right".

It feels surreal, and sometimes you'll wonder if you're talking to a web of computers who generate appropriate response to you and keeps you going on.

Eerie doesn't it? =)

Imagine one day you saw one of your online "close friends" on the street... and when you tap on his/her shoulder... he/she didn't even know who you are.........................

Hey, it may happen.

Suddenly I feel like starting a campaign where no one can use any social technology tools for a week or something.

It'll be interesting wouldn't it? ;)

Don't be so Cocky

They say, don't ever assume that you know a person completely well.

Unless you're the person him/herself.

Human behavior changes all the time that in every second changes occur.

You might think you know a person completely well, wait till reality slaps you awake and suddenly one of your friends is someone else you can never understand.

Being a good friend is not one who monitors and suffocates his/her friends without leaving him/her any space to breathe. It's one who knows her friends' personality and molds him/herself into it.

I have a good friend. She's not much of the chatty type. Every time I tried to get her talking she just can't squeeze out more words than necessary. Soon I realized what I have to do, left her alone and just chat occasionally to keep in touch. But to me she's still a good friend.

Sometimes having a personal principle might be a correct thing, but flexibility is a good thing too.

But of course those are just my personal opinions. = )

Ooh What a Nice PV

Finally, there is one story-based alice nine. PV.

Shuukashuutou. After so many years, finally it's out.

Nao is absolutely cute. And that note taking thing is so so so like him.

Hiroto...eating with chopstick in class......OTL...

Tora...absolutely naughty...nods obediently with his nerdy glasses...then...got caught with a packet of cig in his pocket...XD~

And what's wrong with Shou looking out of the window?? I do that all the time!

Saga...got surrounded by gals...typical XD~

I love this PV a lot. I think this is one of my top 5 PV for now.

And alice nine. in uniforms, what could be hotter?

Yvonne..

DON'T

MAKE ME SAY ANYTHING.

Because I believe you would know that I would fangirl over them like never before.

So don't.

Ok, forget about it. I can very well control myself from screaming all over the blog how fantastic they look.

So, I'm going to give some opinions instead of screams and shouts here and there *getting mature XD*.

First of all, Saga shouldn't wear that red outfit. He's enough hot and sexy already.

Secondly, this PV reminds me of Ayabie's style. Please I hope this is just RAINBOWS. I really don't want to see alice nine. going to Ayabie/SuG style.

Thirdly, Hiroto is the perfect live example of looking cute (as in the teddy bear kind of cute) and utterly hot at the same time. I wouldn't want to tell you the evidence because I knew I'd lose control but if you watch his solo you would get what I mean.

Fourthly, I totally love the starting of the song. The starting is SUPER BRILLIANT. Exactly my taste. The rest goes well but weirdly I think the chorus is kinda a minus point? I just don't think Shou should yell it that way you know. There must be a better way in expressing that line somehow.

Fifthly, I really want to ask Shou this question "Do you have this obsession over CATCHY pants?". First it's gold metallic pants, now it's leopard prints. Oh whatever.

Sixth, Hiroto's solo is fab. Oooh the way he pull the last string off in his solo, yummy.

End of opinions.

Ah, I felt much more composed now.

Now what I have to do is wait for the CD. ^O^~

This has got to be...

...one of the most amusing comment I've come across so far in my forum-surfing experience.

It's hilarious to me, I can't help but to put it here.

Are you calling me a bitch? Well, a bitch is a dog, a dog is an animal, an animal is a part of the nature, and nature is beautiful. So yeah, thank you very much.

ROFL. Seriously.

Kudos to the creator of this line, I love it too much. X'D~~

I am thinking of...

...getting a fringe for my front hair~

What say you??

I don't know, I feel like doing some changes to my hair somehow...

There's a poll sideway there, under my cbox~~ So please vote there!!

Even if you didn't see me in ages just vote anyway based on your thoughts and opinions~

My hair's length is now 1 or 2 inches below my shoulder. So you can consider it as medium length...

Thanks!!
