Cordon Bleu

Cordon Bleu Chicken Cutlet.

It's not a common dish seen in mainstreamed western restaurants anymore I guess.

A cordon bleu chicken cutlet, to put it simply, is a French classic, with Swiss cheese and bacon roll stuffed into the chicken cutlet, fried to golden perfection, and served with mushroom sauce.

It is, in my opinion, a very "supreme" style of serving a chicken cutlet, so extravagant and deliciously fried with breadcrumb.

I had that this afternoon.

Cordon Bleu Chicken Cutlet served with
baked beans, fries, fried egg and salad.

If you look closely you might see the cheese and bacon within.

That's my dad's black pepper chicken chop, as usual.

SHOGUN

I'm always a SUCKER for Japanese buffet, pardon my choice of words.

Today I went to Shogun with classmates for Japanese buffet, we were expecting to pay 40+ per person but it turned out to be only 30+ per pax due to some sort of discount or promotion unknown to us. For Japanese buffet with varieties ranging from sushi, sashimi, tenpura, oysters, various soups, desserts, ice-creams, casseroles, peking duck, sulfur steamed duck, unagi, teppanyaki, and so on at 30+ is a bargain one should never miss in their lifetime.

I should probably save the speech and let you guys drool over pictures (again) :)

It's SHOGUN.

Complimentary Udon-suki consisting of udon, fish, mushrooms,
sliced kamaboko
, vegetables, and so on in clear broth.

Complimentary Atlantic Jackknife Clam in Garlic Sauce.

Various fresh sashimis
Abalone, red maguro (tuna), beef asparagus,
unagi
sushi, shiro maguro (white tuna),
SALMON (obviously my favourite, had 5x), and so forth.

A better close-up shot to show-off the softness of salmon =D

Fresh Oysters
I don't eat oysters actually, but being the adventurous person I am
I took two and slurped them off (good oysters)
after squeezing vast amount of lemon juice on it.

Various casseroles
Baked cheese sea shell, cheese sea snails, unagi, seafood lasagna.
Seafood lasagna was good, cheesy cheesy.

Chawanmushi
Ah, who can forget this?
Smooth flowing egg, everyone's fav.

Various tenpuras
Onion ring, EBI TENPURA, soft-shelled crab, aubergine tenpura.

Sulfur Steamed Duck
Prepared on special request.

Sulfur Steamed Duck
Full of chinese herbs flavour.

Peking Duck
Nothing that spectacular.

Traditional Chinese Chicken Soup
Though a bit oily, but overall an invigorating soup,
thanks SMay for introducing lol.

Rib-eye and Mixed Vegetables Teppanyaki
The teppanyaki sauce was really one thing to be praised,
buttery yet with hint of garlic flavour,
it's a pleasure going with the rib-eye.

Various ice-creams
I had Mint with Chocolate Chips, Matcha (green tea),
and Vanilla with Chocolate Ripple.

Overall I had to say Shogun's much better than Saisaki, at least I got to take a lot of pictures as compared to Saisaki last time, and the ambience's much better than Saisaki, a place for hot-in-love couples to go. Flavour-wise I think Shogun's better too, with much fresher sashimis and sushis. But for the tenpuras Saisaki beats Shogun.

Overall rating - 7/10.
The price - Definitely worth it, affordable.
Recommended items - Sashimi, oysters, seafood lasagna.

Malta

It's one of my favourite drinks, especially in a bottle and chilled to ice cold.

At first I don't like it too. I forgot when and why my taste changed.

Wow

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

I've probably said it before and I'll say it again.

Knowing too much is just NOT a good thing for me.

So from now on, I, will be, as ignorant as I can get.

It's just so weird, knowing things you shouldn't.

Because then you'll start having presumptions and worse, making decisions for others.

I hate knowing too many things.

I'm withdrawing =)

Vegetarian

Some time ago me and my family went to this vegetarian restaurant about 10+km away from my place. It's a family business. Well usually vegetarian restaurants are. Everyone adores family-run restaurants. That's the closest you can get to the original home-cooked taste.

It's norm for us to order a veggie, 2 "meat", a tofu, and probably a soup. But today we don't feel like having soup so we skipped that =)

Butter lettuce in Fermented Bean Curd Gravy
("Fu Yee Yau Mak")
Me and my bro love this so much,
we order this in almost every single rice-and-dish dinners.

Mongolia Chicken
Full of wok hei and flavour,
the "chicken" is actually a type of mushroom.

Signature Green Curry
Sadly the coconut milk's too overpowering,
making the dish too saturated for us to enjoy.
It'd be nice if the spices wasn't too strong and if we're hungry
enough so as not to notice about the saturated coconut milk.

Butter Prawns
The BEST butter prawns we've ever had after
almost 20+ vegetarian restaurants.
It's just plain wonderful.
The butter and coconut shavings merged so well,
you would lick the plate clean.

Thai Tofu
Nothing special, just deep fried tofu
with thick sweet thai chili sauce.
The tofu stays crunchy even after a while.

A close-up of the tofu =D

It's nonetheless a heartwarming dinner. Except for the green curry which doesn't really suit our taste, the rest are all good. Especially butter prawns, it's a personal recommendation from me, a must-try. Thai tofu is good too.

Interested just gimme a holler, I'll be happy to tell you where to get this treasure ^^

If There's One Thing I Hate

That will be seeing people that I once know changed so much that it's too much of a change for me to accept.

Especially my close friends.

Not on the outside, mostly their heart and the way they think.

I fear the day when I find out something shocking about my close friends that I do not know about and they never think that I should know.

Yes I fear.

Please dear friends, if there's anything just let me know.

Thanks.

Back

MOCK's over, finally.

I'm so numb to the whole exam routine already.

But anyway, I don't have to think about exams in the near future, very near in fact.

HAVE I MENTION THAT FROM TODAY ONWARDS I HAVE (nearly) ONE WEEK OF HOLIDAY?!?!?!?!?!?

YES, ONE WEEK. OMG. I thought this day would never come.

If it weren't for that one miserable T8 class for three hours on Wednesday, I wouldn't be adding that "(nearly)" in.

And what's even more miserable that I'm going to that miserable three-hour class on Wednesday.

I know, I'm just so spontaneous. =.=

Sighs. Why am I rambling about that 3-hour class, I should be grateful that my WHOLE WEEK is off.

And it's filling up quite fast too, seeing that I'm booked for Wednesday and Thursday already =D

I *heart* holidays.

Oh and by the way, I got my full driving license already.

~~~*~(^o^)~*~~~
Yes time passes quick isn't it?
Two years, in the blink of an eye.
Two years, so many things happened in my life.
It's so hard to tell what's going to happen in the future.
Life is such a volatile thing.
Pasta de Gohan =D
Went to Pyramid today with PLin and Liana.
After about 5 minutes of staring at the Directory, and yes I don't know why I tend to do so every time in the course of deciding lunch/dinner places, PLin suggested that maybe we can go to Wong Kok since I mentioned that I sort of wanted to try that XO Chee Cheong Fun last time.
Then at the last minute I steered them to "take a look" at Pasta de Gohan's for any ongoing promotion sets.
You know, Pasta de Gohan, the restaurant that I've taken a photo of last time?
Yeah, it's THAT restaurant. =D
And then after about 3 minutes fumbling and thinking hard while staring at the lunch set menu in front of the restaurant (with waitress waiting beside us too, how embarrassing >.<), I couldn't take it anymore and stepped into the restaurant hehe.
Their lunch set, which comprises of a main course (pasta of your choice), and a side dish (variety of toasts, gratins, curry rices or pilafs), sums up to about 15+ bucks per set, is very satisfying for a normal person.
The menu's rather informative, pictures of each dish and the name of it underneath in English, Chinese, and most importantly, in my opinion, Japanese. I wondered why Italian isn't included in the menu, I guess maybe only a few reads Italian here in our country.
Pasta de Gohan
Fusion of Italian and Japanese restaurant,
which features Italian style cuisine cooked with Japanese ingredients.
I have to warn you guys,
the price's a bit above the average when you're ordering ala carte.
Parmesan cheese sprinkles, black pepper and chili flakes,
all my favourite condiments =D
You can choose whether to have spaghetti or fettuccine for the main course, but of course the three of us chose spaghettis.
Potato and Bacon Cream Spaghetti
PLin's.
Cream Squid and Cod Roe Spaghetti
Liana's.
Eggplant and Bacon Spaghetti
Mine! =D
I love the bacon, crispy and full of flavour.
But too bad the spaghetti don't come with a sauce.
And then we had our side dishes - smaller in portion.
Baked Potato Gratin
Liana's
I love this one a lot, super cheesy and creamy.
The baked potato's powdery and melt-in-your-mouth.
Egg Curry Rice.
Mine. Sort of a wrong choice =(
But at least I get to taste Japanese curry again.
But I have to say the egg was prepared exactly the way I want it.
Not too raw, not too cooked.
Look at that flowing yolk! Love love love.
Wafu Tuna Gratin
PLin's
The flavours of Tuna and cheese fused so well,
none of it overpowers another.
Overall rating - Okay-okay.
The price - Slightly expensive but you wouldn't go broke.
Recommended order - Gratin. Hehe.
Slow
I just realized that, after next Monday, no more ordinary classes!!
No more Wednesday/Thursday 8am-6pm routine!!
Isn't life wonderful?
No. Not really.
There's still exam preparation classes, which consists of 3-days of 8am-6pm, and about 9 days of 8am-2.30pm.
Sob.
I love my life I love my life I love my life.
Say that to the mirror every morning for 5 times and I shall, love my life.
What bullshit.
With final exam in less than 50 days, I shall be happy that I'm not banging my head to the said mirror already.
What a wonderful life.
Sh!t
It's going to be my trials (MOCK) next week.
And I'm so damn unprepared.
I think this time I might fail all my papers.
Seriously, I'm NOT kidding. You'll know that I'm not kidding if you know me close enough.
Outsiders will just say that I'm lying, that means, YOU DON'T KNOW ME.
Anyway what was I saying earlier?
Oh yes, I DON'T WANT MY TRIALS TO BE ON NEXT WEEK!!!
WHY???
Argh.
500 Posts Old
500 posts. In about a year.
I don't know if that's slow, or fast.
To me it's pretty slow, I don't put all my thoughts here ya know.
But nevertheless, I should probably celebrate it with my blog.
Dear Blog, Happy 500th Posts Old!
You know I always love you =D
Okay I sounded a little demented. But anyway who cares, I'm crazy most of the time anyway.
Italian Gelato
It's the name of the ice-cream, btw. XD
And it's SUPER delicious.
The chocolate chips used are of good quality so it really melts in your mouth without any feel of that weird oily feeling.
The yellow base ice cream tasted like cappuccino.
You guys should try it. It's not new, btw.
Vivo!!!!!!!!!!
I still LOVE Vivo so much, so so so much.
Under my strong influence, I managed to get Agnes and Kim down to Vivo for a try.
If I'm not mistaken we were the first customer of Vivo today, but when we left, the place was crowded with customers.
And this time, I'm smart enough to order drinks so as not to feel utterly regretful like last time.
Gosh I LOVE VIVO~!
Chocolate Marshmellow Dream
MINE!! Super heavenly!!!
Chocolate Banana Freeze
Agnes's. That two laughed so hard when I asked where's the banana,
I thought it's supposed to be sliced and put into the drinks okay =.=
Tropical Swing
Kim's. Mix of mango and orange. Quite like it! =D
The size of a drink is SO big and tall, it's quite worth it.
Oriental Chicken Pizza
For share. To me it's way better than Pizza Hut.
I'm so bored of Pizza Hut.
Chicken and Mushroom Baked Rice
"Chicken strips & fresh mushroom slices over a bed of spaghetti,
covered with creamy tomato sauce and Mozzarella cheese."
Seafood Baked Rice
"Warm butter rice topped with prawns,
salmon & dory fish chunks in creamy tomato sauce,
oven baked with mozzarella cheese on top. "
Creamy Mushroom Spaghetti
"Fresh shitake mushrooms slow fried with butter
and garlic finished with home-style creamy tomato sauce"
Seriously I didn't taste any tomato but yes it's damn creamy.
Can you believe the three of us wiped out the food on that table? =D
And Kim said that she's not full yet after that. OMG. She beats me.
VIVO! I'll visit you again definitely. Hopefully next two weeks when I can try Krispy Kreme as well. =D=D=D
